The Wollondilly Shire is located on the south-west outskirts of Sydney - about one hour's drive from the Sydney CBD down the M5. It is surrounded by spectacular natural beauty and rural pastures.
The Shire stretches from Yanderra in the south, Appin in the east to Warragamba in the north and the Nattai Wilderness and Burragorang Valley in the west. Whilst it covers 2,560 square kilometres, the population in its rural areas and 16 towns and villages is only about 40,000. More than half of the Shire is made up of national parks and the Sydney water catchment area and the remainder is a showcase of rural living.
Wollondilly Tourism Association Inc is currently building an excellent website which will showcase the Wollondilly Shire and everything it has to offer. A link will appear here as soon as it is available - in the meantime don't hesitate to contact us for further information about visiting Wollondilly and its environs or phone the Wollondilly Visitor Information Centre in Picton on (02) 4677 3962.
